Carl Surges started this company. He moved it to northern Wisconsin, where he lives. He hired his sales staff and his production crew right here in the Northwoods.
That same crew still builds our docks. They are the backbone of this business. On weekends they fish, hunt, ski, kayak, and ride snowmobiles. They come from Minocqua and Eagle River, Lake Tomahawk and Phelps.
We are a quirky bunch. People see our ads and wonder what it is like to work here. The truth is that it is a lot of fun. We are proud of this pier. It is patented, and there is nothing else like it. We are prouder still that our work feeds the local economy.
You will find us on Hwy 70 East in St. Germain. Folks are surprised when they walk in. We do not look like an international headquarters. We are one anyway. Come see the showroom. It is worth the trip.
Meet Pierre
Our landmark is a giant. We call him Pierre. He grins at everyone driving in and out of St. Germain. He loves a selfie, and people line up for photos with him all year.
We build every pier to order. A small crew turns them out as fast as the orders come in. We buy the best materials we can get. Most come from Wisconsin companies in Schofield, Lake Mills, Eagle River, and Osceola. Some come from Iron River, Michigan. Carl and the crew built Pierre in our own shop, so we count him as one of us.
